When I brought Carrie home from the hospital, things were stressful at first. For one, I had gotten almost *no* sleep for the previous few nights. So I was pretty tired, and she kept me up most of the first night. I finally called my mom downstairs and she took Carrie with her for the rest of the night so I could get some sleep. It was a weird adjustment at first. Some people stopped by to visit and see her, other people said they would and never did. It didn't really matter to me all that much. People sent presents. I never got a chance to have a baby shower because I got so many presents ahead of time. It would have seemed wrong to have one after that and make the people feel like they had to get more presents. So it was just skipped, though i'll admit I was disappointed.
I had to take an incomplete in school due to the fact that I missed semsesters because I had Carrie. And due to the complications during delivery, I wasn't allowed to go back to school right away. So they gave me until the end of Fall semester to make it up, which I haven't gotten done yet.. But anyways, End of May, Mom, Carrie, and I drove to Pennsylvania, which was tiring, but great. We didn't have a lot of time.. Time to drive 3 days, spend 4 days there, and drive 3 days back. Roughly. But it was great seeing everyone, and I was so glad everyone was able to see Carrie. And of course, they all adored her. :) But I expected that. Who could not? :)
